Intro from the Imperfect Mamma
Hello! My name is Jess and I am the "Imperfect Mamma."
What does that mean exactly? Well, I am a mother of two beautiful girls -- Sophie (almost 5) and Ava (almost 2). So that automatically explains the "Mamma" part. I work full time, commute, try to squeeze in workouts multiple times a week, try to maintain friendships, and do my best to maintain a healthy relationship with the hubbie. There's also the added fun of paying bills, shuttling kids to and from school and their weekend activites, trying to connect with other parents, traveling with (and seldomly without) kids, attending work conferences, work happy hours, occasional business trips, the list goes on and on.
The juggling act is REAL and it's also beautiful. That's where the "Imperfect" part comes in. It can get messy, and I've learned that messy is OK...(as long as there's a clean up plan in your back pocket)
What makes me different from every other Mommy Blogger? / Why should you care?
- I want to be helpful and share tools, tricks, hacks and all of the methods that get me through my ~12hr day as a mom, and as a full time working professional. I rely on a multitude of apps, I have go to 5 minute kids meal prep recipes, 5 minute adult (healthy!) recipes, productivity hacks/tools, and much much more. My hope is to inform and inspire others in similar situations.
- My content won't be glossy or staged or depict the perfect life. I promise to show the good and the challenging — I want folks to be able to relate to the "real." Social media tends to force a culture of perfection — who can relate to that? Life is hard. I want to help people in those hard times, and still be able to celebrate the good as well.
- I've been a professional designer for 12+ years working at award-winning agencies and technology companies. I promise to bring that creativity here and create engaging, inspirational content with it.
- I'm going to be experimenting with this initiative and trying new things along the way, so please bare with me! I'd love to hear your feedback, questions, comments, suggestions. Let me know if there's certain content you'd like me to feature/talk about.
